Danny Healy By Hand

Multi-wind player/composer Danny Healy has been in residence at MONA since May, 4 days a week, writing music. Each day at 4 a band arrives and plays the day's tunes. I have been delighted to be part of the Monday ensemble along with my usual partners in musical crime, drummer Tom Robb and bassist Hamish Houston. 

Unfortunately we're into the last month - the final By Hand will be Monday Nov 28th. Danny has written hundreds of tunes - 600 and counting! It's phenomenal! I am very curious about how he has experienced this super intensive period of writing, how it has affected his practice, etc etc. I'll miss having the weekly play and catch up with my homies, but I can understand why Danny will be looking forward to a break!

So get on down to MONA and catch Danny before the series wraps up!
